System requirements.
What IDU needs to run on your infrastructure — server, database, browser and hardware sizing. Every requirement listed must be met before installation of IDU products can commence.
IDU specs
The full requirements, on a single page. Important — every requirement listed below must be met before installation of IDU products can commence.
Server configuration
- Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 / 2025 (64-bit) with IIS 10.0 or later
- .NET Framework 4.8 or later
- Firefox, Chrome or Edge
- SQL Server 2016 / 2017 / 2019 / 2022 (Standard or Enterprise edition) with Database Engine, Integration Services, Reporting Services, Shared Management Objects, Report Viewer, and Visual Studio with Integration Services Project extension
- A SQL user with sysadmin rights for the duration of the installation
- Database collation: Latin1_General_CI_AS (collation of TempDB must match)
Server hardware sizing
Three sizing tiers are recommended depending on user count, transaction volume, and complexity:
- Small — 8 GB RAM, 3.0 GHz dual-core processor, 100 GB hard drive, single-server install
- Medium — 16 GB RAM, quad-core 2.5 GHz processor, 200 GB hard drive, single-server install
- Large — 32 GB RAM minimum, quad-core 2.5 GHz minimum, 500 GB hard drive (SSD recommended), single-server install recommended (split server possible)
PC configuration
- Windows 10 or 11
- Web browser: Safari, Firefox, Chrome or Edge
- Excel — the later the version, the more integrated functionality you get
- Processor: i5 or upwards
Notes
- The definition of small, medium and large depends on a number of factors — number of users, combinations, transactions, complexity, and MS SQL version.
- Implementation of IDU Analytics or Power BI may require additional infrastructure and third-party software requirements.
