AI that assists. Not replaces.
IDU uses AI to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while keeping control firmly with your finance team. AI assists with generating planning assumptions, supporting budget and forecast inputs, and interpreting performance and variances. All outputs are transparent. Assumptions are adjustable. Every decision remains governed.
AI supports. Finance decides.
The model suggests
AI analyses historical data and patterns to generate suggested assumptions and highlight trends across budgets, forecasts, and reported results. These are starting points, not fixed outcomes.
The human decides
Every suggested value can be accepted, adjusted, or rejected. Control remains with the budget owner, with full visibility into how numbers are derived.
The platform governs
Validation rules, approval workflows, and audit trails apply to all values, whether AI-assisted or manually entered. Nothing bypasses governance.
Three places AI shows up in IDU.
Planning support
AI helps generate assumptions for budgets and forecasts based on historical patterns and configurable parameters.
Variance and performance insight
AI highlights changes, trends, and anomalies across actuals vs budget and forecast, helping both finance and operational managers understand what is happening.
Narrative reporting
AI translates financial data into clear explanations, helping users interpret results without relying on manual commentary.
Predictive Planning Assumptions.
Adjustable confidence levels
Set the level of confidence applied to predictions, controlling how conservative or responsive outputs are.
Configurable trend intervals
Choose the historical window the model learns from — last 12 months, 3 years, or the full dataset. You decide what matters.
Full user control
Every suggested value is editable. Override one, override all — the assumption lives with the budget owner, and the audit trail records every decision.
Two agents. Both in production.
Not roadmap demos. Real agents shipping inside IDU right now — one guiding your managers through the workflow, one turning your numbers into narrative finance leaders can act on.
AI Help Agent
An in-platform assistant that supports users as they work. Ask questions in natural language, receive answers grounded in IDU documentation. Relevant Training Academy content is surfaced as needed. Faster onboarding, reduced support, and more confident users.
Insight Agent
From numbers to understanding. Analyses financial data to highlight variances, trends, and emerging patterns across budgets, forecasts, and actuals. Turns results into clear, actionable explanations, helping finance and operational teams understand what is changing and where attention is needed. Faster interpretation, earlier visibility, and more informed decisions.
FAQs about AI in IDU.
Does IDU use a large language model to generate forecasts?
No. Predictive Forecast Assumptions use classical time-series techniques trained on your own historical data. LLMs power the Help Agent and Insight Agent for narrative and navigation — not for producing the numbers. Finance-critical figures never depend on generative models.
Does our data train shared or external models?
No. Predictions are computed on your data, inside your tenant. Nothing is pooled, nothing is used to improve a shared model. The customer data boundary is hard and non-negotiable.
How are AI suggestions tracked for audit?
Every suggested value, every human override, and every final committed figure is timestamped and preserved. Auditors see exactly what the model produced, what the budget owner accepted or changed, and why.
Can we turn AI features off?
Yes — at the organisation, team, or user level. AI-assisted features are opt-in per module and per role. Organisations that run without AI-informed forecasting get the same governed planning environment without any prediction layer involved.
