BETHPHAGE

Bethphage gains clarity and control with IDU, freeing more time to focus on care

ABOUT BETHPHAGE

Bethphage is a charitable and specialist support provider for adults (18+) with learning disabilities. The organisation was founded in 1994 and provides a diverse range of care and support services for more than 150 adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and mental health needs across Shropshire and the West Midlands. Support varies depending on the person’s needs, ranging from two hours a week to 24 hours day and night. This is provided in people’s own homes, their family homes, in individual or shared tenancies and out in the community.

THE BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Bethphage, a charitable support provider for adults with learning disabilities, faced mounting challenges with its previous FP&A system. Budgeting and forecasting were cumbersome, reporting outputs were difficult to format, and performance analysis lacked the flexibility the finance team needed. Managing personnel expenses, CapEx, and contract profitability across multiple service categories — from day hours to sleep‑ins — required a multidimensional approach that their old system simply couldn’t deliver.

These inefficiencies meant the finance team spent too much time fixing outputs and reconciling data, rather than focusing on strategic insights. For an organisation dedicated to delivering thousands of hours of specialist support each week, the lack of streamlined financial management was a barrier to efficiency and growth.

THE SOLUTION

In 2021, Bethphage switched to IDU Cloud’s Financial Budgeting and Reporting Modules. The implementation was rapid and supported by IDU’s consulting team, who tailored the system to Bethphage’s requirements and met tight deadlines with ease. The new solution provided a functionally rich yet cost‑effective platform, enabling multidimensional planning across personnel, contracts, CapEx, and fixed assets.

With IDU, Bethphage can now allocate staff costs across branches, run profitability analysis on each support contract, and seamlessly compare budgets to actuals. The intuitive interface and improved reporting outputs have empowered the finance team to deliver accurate, timely insights while freeing up capacity to focus on the organisation’s core mission: supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism.

A PARTNER IN SUCCESS

“Partnering with Bethphage was about more than delivering a system — it was about enabling their finance team to plan smarter and focus on their mission of care. Seeing them move from a restrictive solution to IDU’s intuitive, multidimensional platform has been incredibly rewarding.” – Mark, Sayle, Account Manager, IDU

“We have found IDU intuitive and easy to navigate. It ticks all the boxes for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis, and the reporting outputs are far better than with our previous system. I highly recommend IDU to other organisations and could see it adding value across industries.”

Chris Stephens, Head of Finance and IT, Bethphage
