EAZI ACCESS

From Heavy Lifting in Excel to Streamlined Budgeting and Reporting in IDU

ABOUT EAZI ACCESS

Founded in 2003, Eazi Access is Africa’s market leader in work-at-height and material-handling solutions. The company offers rental, sales, servicing and training across a wide range of industries and applications. With an extensive footprint across South Africa and a growing presence throughout sub-Saharan Africa, Eazi Access operates the continent’s largest and most diverse fleet of equipment. This scale is supported by a strong network of skilled technicians and a commitment to providing 24/7 customer service.

THE BUSINESS CHALLENGE

As Eazi Access expanded, the finance team faced increasing complexity in managing budgeting, forecasting and reporting across multiple regions and business units. Traditional spreadsheet based processes created significant inefficiencies and risks:

  • Version control issues led to repeated changes, republishing of reports, and reduced confidence in financial outputs.

  • Manual reporting tasks consumed valuable time and resources, limiting the team’s ability to focus on analysis.

  • Lack of accessibility meant operational managers were unable to take ownership of their financial performance, creating bottlenecks at head office.

Group Financial Manager, Tony Majola, explains: “The biggest frustration prior to using IDU was always version control. Even reporting actuals required last-minute changes and constant republishing, which created doubt about the credibility of the finance department. ”

THE SOLUTION

In 2018, Eazi Access implemented IDU-Concept to address these challenges and modernise its financial management processes.

KEY FEATURES INCLUDED:

Excel integration – Reports are now created once, imported into IDU, and made accessible to all authorised users, eliminating repetitive reporting tasks.

User-friendly navigation – The intuitive design and built-in help tools ensured rapid adoption, even among non-financial users.

Drill-down functionality – Operational managers can investigate variances at a transactional level without relying on head office support.

Their story highlights how IDU-Concept empowers businesses to simplify financial processes, improve efficiency and create accountability across the organisation. We look forward to continuing to support their growth. ”

“IDU has streamlined our budgeting and reporting processes. It saves us time, creates empowerment, and puts ownership back at an operational level. From a group perspective, it has freed head office from unnecessary investigations and allowed us to focus on value-added activities.”

THE RESULT

Improved accuracy and trust – A single version of the truth across the business has strengthened confidence in reported results.

Greater accountability – Operational and regional managers have direct access to live financial data, driving ownership of performance at branch level.

Enhanced efficiency – Automation of previously manual tasks has freed up the finance team to focus on higher-value analysis and decision support.

Rapid insight – By compiling budgets and reporting within the same tool, the business can instantly compare actuals against budget and drill into variances.
